Leadership Skills
Our team challenges will push participants to work together and develop their self-confidence, social skills, problem-solving, communication, and new outdoor skills.
Why Book a Camp?
1 – Life is so busy, this generation of teens are bombarded with school work, intense digital connectivity and pressures that adults struggle to cope with. Odyssey camps offer a brilliant way to take some precious time out by unplugging from digital media and a break from busy schedules. We will invite students to venture outside of their comfort zone, escape from the day-to-day stresses and inspire a spirit of adventure, and help them become the person they want to be.
2 – Each day the program focuses on a specific theme that provides opportunities to develop important life skills needed by the next generation of global citizens:
- Creativity
- Critical thinking
- Communication
- Resilience
3 – We absolutely promise a fun and unforgettable experience. We understand this may be a big step for you and your teen and we’d love to speak to you personally to learn about your family and see if our program and goals can align with yours.
Where is it?
Camp Odyssey is located inside Gunung Gede Pangrango National Park, Sukabumi in West Java. Transportation is provided for campers to and from Jakarta, making this 5-day camp convenient for everyone.
Who can attend Camp?
Camp is open to boys and girls who are aged between 13-15 (but talk to us if there are slightly older or younger siblings who are craving a little bit of adventure too).
Who are our facilitators?
Our highly experienced facilitators will run the program, they’ve worked with teens for many years and have the right risk management training, health & safety. All of our facilitators help deliver our schools programs throughout the year which are attended by students from the top international schools across SE Asia. All of our team have an amazing sense of adventure, combined with a sense of humour and patience required for working with teenagers!
Camp Odyssey is managed by two of Odyssey Institute’s senior team members, Ben Tamblyn and Zaki Rosadi, both of whom can be contacted at any time to discuss the camp.
Safety First
Our number one priority is your child’s physical and emotional safety. Trusting us to take care of your child during an adventurous camp is something we respect and take very seriously. Rigorous risk assessments have taken place for the venue, activities and course outline. We are one of only a few fully licensed and legal providers in Indonesia and we take our responsibility seriously.
Size isn’t everything!
Our camps are bespoke and have been specially designed for an intimate feel. The experiences and friendships we hope to foster during Camp will come from time spent together and a sense of shared responsibility. So we deliberately keep the groups small and age-appropriate. The ratios between staff and students will be 1 leader per 10 students. This is a time for making new friends as well as deepening existing relationships and the focus will be firmly on positivity and inclusivity.
Our facilitators take joy in getting to know each camper individually, we believe by concentrating on the individual experience we can create unforgettable memories as well as encouraging self-development and self-confidence.
